CELLULOSE ACETATE

Cellulose acetate is an artificial and chemical material. This silk-like fiber is often used in the production of luxury eyewear, but also in linings and clothing.

IS IT ECO-RESPONSIBLE?

Cellulose acetate is obtained from cellulose fibers, mainly from cotton cultivation. Most of the time, for economic reasons, manufacturers replace these natural fibers with polyester or nylon, which are of petroleum origin.

In addition, in order for the cellulose to become acetate, many chemicals are added. Some of them are plasticizers of petroleum origin, and are also dangerous for health.
