RECYCLED POLYESTER
Recycled polyester is made from the recycling of plastic bottles. It has the same characteristics as conventional polyester. However, unlike polyester, it loses quality and must be mixed with other materials to be resistant.
IS IT ECO-RESPONSIBLE?
Recycled polyester is of course less polluting and harmful than traditional polyester. Nevertheless, it is not a sustainable solution. Indeed, recycling polyester requires a lot of energy and many chemicals. In addition, it is almost impossible to trace recycled polyester because it comes from various used packaging fibers. Finally, each recycled polyester garment also releases plastic micro-particles with each wash, which then end up in the oceans and disturb the ecosystem.
