VISCOSE

Viscose is an artificial chemical material made from plant or wood pulp. This fiber is neither natural nor synthetic. Since it is chemically transformed, it is said to be "artificial".

IS IT ECO-RESPONSIBLE?

Because it is made from natural fibers, viscose is considered by many to be environmentally friendly. However, its chemical transformation impacts our environment. Moreover, its culture requires the use of pesticides and insecticides.
Finally, it is generally produced in countries where working conditions are often less good than in the West.

WHAT ARE THE ALTERNATIVES?

Lyocell is, to date, the best alternative to viscose. It is the same type of fiber but its production is more environmentally friendly.
