BAMBOO VISCOSE
The traditional viscose comes from a fiber derived from artificially regenerated cellulose. But bamboo fiber has the advantage of having a production cost half that of cotton.
IS IT ECO-RESPONSIBLE?
Bamboo fiber is natural, biodegradable and recyclable. Bamboo does not require any fertilizers or pesticides to grow. Bamboo viscose is therefore more ecological than cotton viscose, but it still has a negative impact on the planet.
WHAT ARE THE LIMITS ?
However, the craze around this fiber raises concerns. Bamboo has become widely exploited, sometimes resulting in massive deforestation. Just like traditional viscose, bamboo fiber needs to be artificially processed.
